Cutting Board Construction

All of my cutting boards are assembled in layers, 18" long, and then the layers are replaned flat. Often assembly of components is required before forming a layer. Multiple layers are glued together into a block, and then sliced open on my bandsaw, like a loaf of bread. The boards are then sanded and finished individually.

Here I'm cutting open a block of Amish Quilt cutting boards on my bandsaw. The blade must be sharp, and the fence set at the angle required by that particular blade.
