We made this ultimate jewelry chest with beauty and unparallelled function in mind. Built to last generations, the case is constructed with tapered sliding dovetail joints joining sides to top and bottom to sides. The cabinet stores an enormous amount of jewelry, with eight graduated depth drawers, and two pullout, two sided swiveling panels, one for necklaces, and one for earrings. The panels are suspended on a solid wood double glide system that allows them to be pulled entirely forward of the cabinet enclosure, and then pivoted, providing perfect visual and manual access to both sides of each panel. Thus the cabinet doesn't require side clearance to operate, and doesn't require the user to crane her neck to pick out her selection. These are made in small batches in various woods.

I plan to make to make like the one in koa, shown above, with four-way bookmatches of shopsawn veneer for each drawer front. These cabinets are truly spectacular, with either a pattern of matched curl and matched figured grain more or less visible depending on the viewing angle, and rich bookmatched thick veneer side panels and top all sawn from the same figured koa plank. Drawers and panels open with sculpted ebony pulls . The drawers are divided up into different configurations to accommodate different jewelry needs. See below for specifics

.Four way bookmatched koa Jewelry cabinet Buy $3200 Out of stock . I'm planning to have more ready for May or June, 2010. Reserving yours will make it more likely I'll have them by then, and you can preorder in your choice of woods. Pleae call for details.

I have one ready ship in mahogany, for $2500. Shipping included to the northeast, extra shipping charge to further points. Click here for photo.

I made some more complex, lockable cabinets a while back, and will take custom orders for similar pieces. For details, see here: lockable jewelry cabinets.

The panels are made so that they pull out to the end and then swing open in both directions. The necklace holder on the left has 10 solid brass necklace hooks on each side with a wooden "pouch"at the bottom of the panel that will catch your longer necklaces. The earring panel is also 2 sided and will hold up to 150 pairs of earrings, with both slots for The dovetailed drawers seemingly stop magically at full extension (due to a magnetic stop system) so they don't inadvertantly pull out, causing you to dump all of your jewelry on the floor, but with a concientious tug they can be removed and reinserted with ease. Above example is of a cherry cabinet, not currently available.

These are the top 4 drawers pulled out so you can see their configuations.

These are the other four lower drawers; notice the front left drawer has 3 ring pads. Each pad has 2 slots for holding many rings.
