Arts and Crafts One Drawer
This box, available in one drawer and two drawer versions, features three panels of book matched spalted maple end-grain, in a field of bubinga, highlighted by wenge. The pulls, outer frame stripe and inlaid square details are ebony, and the case itself is made of leopardwood, a dense, lustrous Brazilian hardwood. The case is joined by 24 through tenons that penetrate deep into the boxes sides.
This has been one of my most popular jewelry boxes for many years. The weight of the leopardwood gives the box a regal presence. Like a fly in amber, the spalted maple in the lid, arrested well into its process of decay, is preserved for generations for your family members to enjoy. Click on image for enlargement.
