This box features an end grain panel of : bloodwood, holly, ebony,pau amarillo, purpleheart, tulipwood, leopardwood, red oak, and zebrawood, framed in wenge and honey locust. This is a nice small jewelry, or what-not box. The mitres are reinforced with bubinga splines for a decorative touch when you open the box. Shown here in cherry, it's also available in walnut. Here's the Small Amish Quilt Box in walnut, showing the black velveteen bottom I use in all my boxes.Note the splines at the corners. The rabbets on the box bottom are cut at a slight taper for a fit that nestles tighter as the lid settles.
