Here's an open view of the Brazilain Tulipwood 2 drawer
jewelry box, showing the sliding tray with padded ring storage in
its rear section (hard to see the two slots in its black velvet),
the solid brass Italian cylinder hinges, and solid brass lid stay
by Brusso. Here is also a good view of the butterfly splines joining
the box together at the corners. These run full depth of the box,
and are fit so tightly it takes a few little tricks to drive them
in at assembly. (You don't expect me to reveal all my tricks, do you?) |

Here's a close-up of the top, showing the wild colors of the Brazilian
tulipwood end grain, the fine line of holly at its edge, and beveled
wenge border, all of which is rabbetted into the cherry frame, which
in turn is splined into the cherry case. |

Close-up of above, at actual size. |

Here's a view showing the bottom drawer open. This drawer is deep
enough to accommadate an object a full 1 1/2" high. Padded ring
storage to the right, with two velvet lined slots, hard to discern
in the black. |

|
Top drawer, divided especially for larger objects. |

|
Here's a detail of the corner, with the butterfly spline, Brusso
lid stay, and Italian cylinder hinge all clearly visible. |
