Custom Inlay Silverware Chest
This handcrafted silverware chest is one of several we've done over the years. The case is made of beautiful figured claro walnut from the west coast, with an ebony inlay. This case features knife in lid storage, blocks for service for 12, and a drawer for a few extra pieces. The case is completely lined with Pacific Silvercloth to prevent tarnish on your silverware.
These are custom made to order, with or without an inlay, and larger chests are possible as well, with more drawers as an option. Prices start at about $1800 for a chest with a drawer, or $1400 without. Call or email for more information.

Here's an interior view of the blocks to hold the silverware, showing the knife in lid storage to hold 12 knives. All interior surfaces are covered with tarnish resistant Pacific Silvercloth I can custom configure the spacing of the blocks and width of the apertures to fit your collection. This case uses butterfly spline miters to join the case, but I can also do through dovetailed for a more traditional look. Both joinery methods result in a case that will be passed down along with heirloom quality silverware for generations.
"I'm happy to report that the silverware chest arrived safe and sound, and it's absolutely gorgeous! My husband and I are thrilled with your work and will shortly be ordering more boxes for our serving pieces."
Silverware Case
This is a thin case for some larger serving pieces, here with carved personalization. These hand made silverware boxes are lined with Pacific Silvercloth. The claro walnut has lovely variegation and curly figure.

Here's another box's interior. The best way for me to fit pieces like this is to be sent the actual pieces, but if you're reluctant to do that we can work with photos and measurements to make a box that will work.

Hawaiian Bouquet Jewelry Box
Since koa has such bold and variable figure, it's especially important to match grain, and select wood carefully. My koa boxes are often made by re-sawing a piece long enough for one short side and one long side, and so I get a perfect grain match all the way around, with two book-matched corners, and two simple continuations of the grain. Pictured is a book-matched corner.
