Claro Walnut and Ebony Jewelry Cabinet
We made this ultimate jewelry chest with beauty and unparalleled function in mind. Built to last generations, the case is constructed with tapered sliding dovetail joints joining sides to top and bottom to sides. The cabinet stores an enormous amount of jewelry, with eight graduated depth drawers, and two pullout, two sided swiveling panels, one for necklaces, and one for earrings.
This one is built from the finest claro walnut from Oregon,
offset by African ebony. The cabinet front is
covered by one single book match creating an exquisite overall
soaring pattern.

The side panels are made so that they pull out to the end and then swing open in both directions. The necklace holder on the left has 6 necklace hooks on this side and 7 on the other side(see next picture) with a wooden "pouch" at the bottom of the panel that will catch your longer necklaces, and a spring loaded foam and velvet padded closure that will put a slight tension of the chains to prevent tangling. The earring panel is also 2 sided and will hold up to 150 pairs of earrings, with both slots and holes to accommodate different earring styles.

The dovetailed drawers seemingly stop magically at full extension (due to a magnetic stop system) so they don't inadvertently pull out, causing you to dump all of your jewelry on the floor, but with a conscientious tug they can be removed and reinserted with ease. There is ring pad in drawer 4 to hold several dozen rings.

The panels are made so that they pull out free of the case, and then swivel in both directions. The necklace holder on the left has 13 necklace hooks on each side, with a well on the bottom for longer chains. Spring loaded hinges on the velvet padded flap on necklace hanging system helps prevent tangling. The earring panel is also 2 sided and will hold up to 150 pairs of earrings, with both slots and holes to accommodate different earring styles.

This is a picture of the back of the maple version of this cabinet. All of the pieces for the walnut version are made of solid walnut and tongue and grooved together. This allows for wood movement, and the panel has no fragile vulnerable edges, as it would if made from a plywood. panel The whole panel is attached with brass screws to allow easy removal if necessary. I've never had a return or customer problem on one of these, but I want to make sure they can be repaired if necessary, long after I'm gone.
